I never dreamed I would be a wedding planner when I started designing wedding invitations and addressing envelopes in 1994. But in 1998 I tagged along with a local photographer to a few weddings to help him and his brides. I learned that weddings were a lot of work and that if I was going to continue doing them and get paid, I needed some training. I joined the Association of Bridal Consultants and took all the classes and seminars they had to offer and worked my way up to Accredited Bridal Consultant.
I enjoy anything related to weddings. I have taught classes at the local library and community college; been interviewed for wedding articles by local and national media; and host two bridal shows a year at the Kentucky Horse Park. This year I have also written wedding articles for TOPS Magazine. But what I truly love is doing weddings. Nothing gives me greater joy or satisfaction than seeing the happy faces of my brides at the end of the night when they realize that they have just had the best time of their lives.
